Learning Clarity Study Platform FAQ: the questions we hear most
Getting started
What is LearningClarity?
LearningClarity is an AI-powered study platform for the web, iPhone and Android. It turns any topic you describe, or your own notes and PDFs, into step-by-step lessons, quizzes, timed exams, podcasts and spoken tutoring, and can end with a certificate anyone can verify.
Who is LearningClarity for?
Individual learners, students preparing for exams, parents helping a child, teachers, and teams training staff. Explanations and questions are pitched at the learner’s age, which is taken from the date of birth given at sign-up.
How do I create an account?
Sign up on the web, the iPhone app or the Android app with your Google, Microsoft or Apple account, or with an email and password. During onboarding you add your date of birth and choose your language. Quick start guide.
Is LearningClarity free to try?
Yes. Every new account gets one week of free use with a fair usage allowance, so you can try the platform before choosing a plan.
What's the quickest way to start learning?
Choose Describe Topic, type what you want to learn, and LearningClarity builds a roadmap of subtopics in seconds. Then open the first subtopic in Explain Mode. Describing a topic is also the cheapest way to start.
Which mode should I use first?
Explain, Quiz and Exam do different jobs. Explain Mode builds understanding, Quiz Mode checks it with low pressure, and Exam Mode measures it formally. Most people go Explain, then Quiz, then Exam for each subtopic, but you can enter any mode directly. Which mode, and where to start.
How is LearningClarity different from a general AI chatbot?
A chatbot answers one question at a time. LearningClarity turns a subject into a structured roadmap, teaches it in short sections with knowledge checks, quizzes and examines you on it, tracks your progress and mastery, and can award a verifiable certificate. Choosing an AI study tool.
Creating topics and uploading material
What's the difference between describing a topic and uploading material?
Describe Topic builds a topic from a sentence or a few paragraphs (up to 5,000 characters) about what you want to learn. Upload Resources builds it from your own files, so explanations, quizzes and exams follow exactly what your course or employer requires.
How do I write a good topic description?
Be specific and add your goal or level. “Supervised learning algorithms for classification, for a data analyst exam” gives a sharper roadmap than “Machine learning”. Creating your first topic.
What files can I upload?
PDF files up to 40 MB each, images in PNG, JPG or JPEG up to 10 MB each (at most 7 per upload) and plain text .txt files up to 5 MB, with up to 50 MB in one upload. Several files in one upload are read together as one body of material. Studying from your own notes.
Can I upload Word documents or PowerPoint slides?
Not directly. Export them to PDF first and they upload normally.
Can I upload videos, audio recordings or YouTube links?
No. Audio and video files, including lecture recordings, and YouTube links aren’t supported as sources. Use the slides, notes or a transcript as a PDF or text file instead.
Why did my PDF fail to upload?
The most common causes are a scanned PDF without a text layer (if you can’t select the text, the app can’t read it), a password-protected PDF, or a file over the size limit. Unlock the file, use a text-based version, or split large material into smaller topics.
Can I study code, maths or technical documentation?
Yes. Technical topics get worked examples, diagrams and callouts, and maths problem sets can be uploaded as PDFs or images so the questions follow your problem type. Export documentation sites to PDF; repositories and website links can’t be read directly. Code and technical material.
Can I choose which subtopics to focus on?
Yes. After the roadmap is created you pick the subtopics you want to learn, and completion is tracked for each one.

In Explain Mode, Visualize generates a clean, labelled diagram of the current concept, with labels in the topic’s language. Visual learning with AI diagrams.
What are Knowledge Checks?

What is Quiz Mode?

Why is there an "I don't know" button?

What is Exam Mode?
A formal assessment on a topic, a whole course or a learning plan. You choose the subtopics, question types, difficulty (Medium, Hard or a mix), the number of questions and whether it’s timed. Answers are only marked when you submit. Exam Mode.

Your score, a pass or fail at 70%, a full question review with feedback, an AI summary of your strengths and the areas to revisit, and your mastery level.
How are open-ended answers marked?
